Projects stay in your browser

Studio stores your projects, map choices, colors, labels, and other editing settings in your browser’s local storage. Project imports are read in your browser. SVG, PNG, and project backup downloads are generated from your session. The current product does not provide accounts or upload project content to a ChooseMap server.

Local projects remain on your device until you delete them in Studio or clear the site’s browser storage. Downloaded files remain wherever you save them and are managed by you.

Payments and the planned lifetime plan

ChooseMap plans to offer lifetime access for a one-time payment of US$19, as described on our Pricing page. Purchasing is not yet available. ChooseMap currently does not collect payments, card details, billing addresses, or purchase records.

Before payments become available, we will update this policy to identify the payment provider and explain what billing information is processed, why it is needed, who receives it, how long it is retained, and how to exercise your privacy rights. Do not send card details or other payment credentials by email.

Site requests

Your browser requests pages, map data, fonts, and other static files from the site’s hosting and content delivery infrastructure, including map cover images served from assets.choosemap.com. Like other website requests, these may include your IP address, browser details, requested URL, and time of access. Hosting and content delivery providers may process request records to deliver the site, maintain security, and diagnose failures. The ChooseMap frontend does not control how long those providers keep request records.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any information or attachments you choose to send. This information is processed through our email provider to respond to your request and resolve support or privacy questions. Project content only stays local if you do not separately share it, for example in a support email.

You may request deletion of your support correspondence using the contact address below. Some records may need to be retained to resolve an ongoing dispute or meet a legal obligation.

Analytics, advertising, and cookies

The current ChooseMap frontend does not include analytics or advertising trackers and does not set cookies for project storage. It uses browser local storage to save projects. If these practices change, this policy will be updated.

External sites

ChooseMap links to sources such as Natural Earth and organizations represented by map collections. Opening an external link takes you to a separate site with its own privacy practices. The current map preview does not load third-party map tiles.

Your choices

You can delete individual Studio projects, clear ChooseMap’s site data in your browser, or download a project backup before clearing local storage. Browser settings may also limit local storage, though Studio may then be unable to save your work.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information we hold. Contact us to make a request. We cannot access, recover, or remotely delete projects stored only in your browser; you control those through Studio and your browser settings.
